Noel Richards - Full Biography
NOEL RICHARDS
I have been part of the UK Christian music scene for more than thirty years. During the last 20 years I have mainly been involved in leading worship and together with my wife Tricia and others, have written many worship songs. Perhaps the best known of these is ‘All Heaven Declares.’
I have played in more than 30 nations and led worship at many events throughout the UK, Europe and beyond.
For many years, I had a strong focus on worship gatherings in stadiums. In January 2000 I played before 66,000 people at the Millennium Stadium, Wales, an event, which was broadcast, live to at least 5 million people in the UK. I was also one of the organisers behind ‘Champion of the World’ at Wembley Stadium in June 1997. This event attracted almost 45,000 people. In July 2006, I led an international worship/prayer gathering at the Olympic Stadium, Berlin, Germany that gathered 25,000 participants and attendees from more than 25 nations.
I have recorded 8 solo albums, and appeared on numerous ‘live’ worship event/compilation CDs, including the EMI/CMG album “I could sing of your love forever”, on which I was featured singing a live version of ‘We want to see Jesus lifted high’. This album has sold in excess of 500,000 units.
I have also collaborated with two other worship leaders, Wayne Drain (USA) and Brian Houston (Ireland). Together we have recorded and played under the band name of “The Hudson Taylors.”
My last studio album released in 2004 is entitled ‘Road to Berlin’ and it is the first studio album recorded with my regular touring band.
Two new albums are planned for a 2008 release.
Although I carry a vision for stadium worship, I am very much committed to working with local churches and the gatherings they organise.
