mr some guy - Full Biography

Robb McCormick began playing music professionally almost ten years ago. Quitting his "day jobs" and secure income to which he was accustomed, to just do what he loved, writing and playing music.

Not just playing music and building a fan base, but writing and playing his own music. And he has successfully been doing that ever since. In fact, Robb has managed to do what few bands or artists in the area (or the world) have been able to do, support himself with his art.

With a repertoire of around 400 original songs, seventeen years of professional music experience fronting a band, & thousands of his four original CD's sold coupled with thousands of gigs throughout the United States, this guy named Robb keeps a busy scehdule. He has been happily married to his wife Jeri now for over 5 years and they have two chidlren, Isaak, 3 and Bella, 1.

By creating and maintaining his own independent record label, KRP Records, he has joined the independent music scene. He has his two fo his five albums on ITunes available for download under his stage name "some guy named robb".

Robb's music differs in stylings pulled from Rock, Folk, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Spoken Word and Spiritual. Many of the people who have visited his website, www.someguynamedrobb.com, and left guestbook messages have simply called him "poet". While others speak candidly about his many performances throughout the years and how his music has touched them. Whichever style of music you catch him on, it's what goes on between the songs that equally fascinate people. He tries, in his shows to break down the wall (he calls it the 'wall of pretense') between audience and performer. He talks to them like they're his best friend, Not as an act, but simply because he's being honest.

Nowadays you can find him all over the web, be it on his myspace account or at purevolume.com and ITtunes. But your best bet is to catch a live show. You just don't know what you're missing until you've seen about ten shows. Because, like a chameleon performer, he is different wherever he is. Rocking it out in the bars, Folkin' it up in the coffee houses, hammin' it up in the pubs, belting it out in the Churches, or quietly strumming along and whispering in the restaurants.

He loves what he does and is thankful to God that He allows him to do it.
