After 11 years of leading worship in one place, my husband and I felt the Lord leading us into new places. Like Abraham, however, we do not know exactly what that will look like. Our first step was to send out a letter introducing ourselves and letting them know what was going on in our lives. We know that God will be faithful to open up the right doors and position us as He chooses!

Thanks for the encouragement! Sarah, yours especially hit home as my husband and I took a further step this past week and stepped down completely from our leadership positions. We were there at the very birth of The Rock Worship Center 15 years ago, and my parents are the senior pastors, so there are many deep roots. Yet, we heard distinctly to "go." We have also been looking at the life of Abraham, how God called him to leave everything he knew for a land "he knew not of." We simply want to be obedient, and Clive, you are so right about the journey being as important as where you actually land. Right now, we are taking one day (or minute) at a time.

I am encouraged and inspired by both your stories. Let us know how the journey develops. My wife and I are also facing a crossroads (where, legend tells us, we encounter the 'otherworld') and need further direction as we take our steps into God's imagination.

I know exactly how that feels. 18 months ago, after some months of "divine discontent" where we were positioned, my husband and I knew God was calling us to move on but did not know where. We prayed, fasted, sought godly counsel and eventually God directed us to almost the opposite side of Ireland. We quit our jobs, left our church and moved out of our house - all by faith.

Like Abraham, we did not know where exactly we were going and why, but I can tell you God is good and He honours faith every time. Jobs were created for us both from nothing, the perfect house presented itself and in perfect time, and we have found a church that is a family to us.

We are now in the middle of hosting our very first worship conference there, and we know now that this is one of the reasons for us to move on, to equip the house of God where we have been placed. We have learned in spectacular fashion how faithful God is and how much He honours faith.

Clive is right, it's all about the journey, not the destination. How slow I have been to learn this sometimes! Be encouraged and strengthened by our testimony, and when He says go, do without heistation. He will come through for you!!

Remember that the journey can be just as important as the destination. Peace and courage to you!
