I've been watching some of the TV coverage of the Glastonbury Festival - Goldfrapp, the Zutons, Neil Diamond and, of course, The Verve. Very interesting. Glastonbury continues to draw people who are seeking a deeper meaning to their universe. It is strangely captivating - with the abbey ruins, the final resting place of Arthur's bones and the surrounding countryside. These days, a whole range of spiritualities and therapies is on offer. I know that there has been a praise event there, too. We Christians need to reclaim these sites of 'holy ground'. We spend too much time debating how true and authentic the symbols are, when we should be taking note of how important the symbolism is to people today.
