December Notes

I hope everyone is enjoying the Christmas season! My sincere prayer is that I would be absolutely AMAZED as I contemplate the meaning of the gift offered to all some 2000 years ago, arriving in a humble manger.

"Who despises the day of small things?" Zechariah 4:10

That verse is found in the context of the re-building of the Temple in Jerusalem under Zerubbabel. And it was done "'Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit', says the Lord of hosts." (Zechariah 4:6). History demonstrates that the Second Temple was finished, from the foundation to the top stone.

What a picture of Jesus and the Holy Spirit we're given there! Jesus is the Chief Cornerstone of the Temple of God - into which we, the church, are being built. He humbly entered the world He created to complete the work of salvation for which He was sent by the Father. By Jesus’ grace and mercy are we filled with the Holy Spirit and commanded, encouraged, and enabled to continue in the Father’s work of shining forth the eternal light of the Good News, until the Day that it is complete, amid great shouts of “Grace, grace to it!” WOW!

Well, since August, I’ve learned a little more about recording, mixing and mastering. If anyone is interested in sampling my latest effort, take a listen to NOTHING CAN SEPARATE US. It’s a song based on Psalm 139:7-10 and Romans 8:38-39. One day, after being reminded again by the Holy Spirit that my heart was wandering away from Jesus (I quickly asked for forgiveness!), I was given a deeper appreciation of how much God loves me. Those verses then came to my mind, and the lyrics for the song fell into place. As a matter of fact, the chord progression (I realize it’s nothing special!) had come to me a few days earlier, with me asking myself, “OK, there’s a chord progression; where’s the words?

Merry Christmas, everyone!

In Jesus’ Eternal Love,
Anthony
