Just a thought, but the reason God does not draw closer to His people is because we fear Him. Fear of the Lord is a good thing, and it is the beginning of Wisdom, but to really experience oneness of God, we must hunger for Him, and our hunger must be greater than our fear. I had to learn to move towards God at any cost, and as I drew near to Him, He drew near to me, and it was worth all of the lessons I learned, some of which were quite painful, if you have read my journals. But I learned, like Job, that the most exquisite joy is God's presence, which silenced and calmed my hurting heart.
Now I spend my time encouraging others to be brave, and move towards a Holy Fearsome but Loving God!

I have my dad's newspapers that are 105 yrs old from the welsh revival. I pray that, like this paper, our local echo will be stamped'revival edition' and each village and town will be shown the numbers saved each week with stories of testimonies and amazing miracles! Let it be God, our nation needs you

At Easter, we think of Christ's resurrection power, which is also at work in us. This causes signs and wonders to follow us. May you see more and more of these miracles happening.....

Although tremendously challenged in some ways - we heard of another great testimony today. A student and charity worker in the church, has a second cousin who was down to 6 stones in weight with no hope, and tumours in her stomach and lung. The sick lady gave her life to Jesus about 4 weeks ago!
Two weeks later she was prayed for by her relative and another lady in the church.

She felt something happen instantly. Subsequent scans have shown that the tumours have gone. The doctor said, ' I'm not allowed to say it, but I think this is a miracle!'.

Let the glory be all for God!

Hi Andrew, Yes I would agree on the shaking of people and congregations. It's as if God knows we've not been ready and this has been, and is a time of preparation. There is a sense of a new day, a stirring and a great expectation. The prophetic is featuring more in our meetings as well and prayer is high on the agenda. Thank you for your encouraging words.

It's amazing because in our prayer meeting this morning I prayed that we would see the 8-10's grow to 80-100's!

Wow - Thanks again!

Sue

Sue. I can't say that i am seeing the same here in Bristol. What i do see is a shaking of people and congregations that is challenging, waking, stirring and transforming. Assumptions and expectations are being challenged and there is a greater desire for the power of God to intervene decisively.

In worship i, and the worship facilitators i work with, are moving towards a much more participative, freeing and prophetic approach. This is in some ways a restoration of something i knew before but with added depth

I'm praying right now that what you are seeing grows and deepens and that 8-10 becomes 80-100!

thanks for your encouragement

Good to hear of what is happening. But before I read Johnguitars comment, the same thought also crossed my mind. This is what should be happening on a continual basis in the lives of our church communities. Long may this continue to flourish and may it be a stimulus to other congregations.

If something explodes among you as johnguitars described below, that will be fantastic but I am not sure we can go chasing revival.

I guess revival in the real sense of the word can only happen when for whatever reason God creates a 'thin place' between the earthly and eternal realm, in a given location. Such as Wales 1904, Toronto 1994, The shetlands etc etc

Surely healings and growth are just business as usual or at least, they sould be. Going by past revivals, revival is folk hammering at the door of the church to be let in and people spontaneously converting in the streets.

Thank you for your comments and questions.

In and around the church family and meetings there is a growing awareness of the supernatural. People are saved in almost every church service ( the numbers are growing- not massively but we see around 8-10 in some meetings now).

During the week as people go about their usual business we are hearing of healing by the laying on of hands. A blind baby has been healed of congenital cataracts removing the need for surgery.

We have prayed passionately for people to be saved since we came to Scotland in 1989. We have worked with all our teams and given training and teaching to help everyone prepare for major salvation, and the follow up and pastoral care that will be needed.

By God's grace we see His hand and anticipate amazing things.

Our prayer is that as He moves more, we will steward well.

Generally we find that far more people are open to the gospel than we've ever seen before.

Since becoming a Christian nearly 30 years ago, I have heard folk talking about revival as if it it just around the corner. Several acounts of visions of a tidal wave spreading from the north of Scotland down thorughout the whole land yet so far it has failed to materialise.

I am sure it will come but is waiting for revival like waiting for the 2nd coming, something that every generation must expect but only one will actually see?

Is this something you are seeing in your regular gatherings, or are you sensing something breaking out in your community on a day to day basis?

What do you mean by revival?
