Definately, I am living testimony.

I was at a Christian Camp, during worship well actually it was praise (does that count?) anyway the Pastor called everyone who wanted to dance up the front to dance, called those who sometimes felt like dancing but felt inhibited to come up, it was all done in the Spirit, there was a special anointing there God had taken the praise and worship into celebratory praise and dance.

I had been suffering with m.e. (chronic fatigue) symptons but I had been dancing during worship at times with flags, not too energetic, but I felt such a freedom when worshiping this way and I was also being obedient to God as he had told me to do this and told me it was part of my healing. And a prophet had told me there was a breaker anointing on what I was doing.

So when the call to go up front and dance (I was at the side) I put the flags down and went up to dance, then a particular song came on and as I was singing and dancing I started jumping but I jumped non stop (it was supernatural!!) I asked God if I should stop for a break as I was conscious of the effect it would normaly have with my m.e I would normally be out (chronicly fatigued and in bed for the majority of the time for about a week, after just a little of this type of excercise) so anyway I heard God say don't stop carry on, so I did and as I did I felt so much energy and felt the muscles in my legs being strengthened. and I had such divine energy I was able to dance/jump like that for the rest of the week, as they continued with celebratory dance praise for the rest of the camp. also on that first day of jumping he told me that he wanted me to help pack down at the end of camp normally this would have been too much for me as it was late a night and quite a bit of work, but in obedience I stayed behind and I knew that act of service would be as a seal to the renewed health and healing he had given me, and I was packing down chairs super fast as though I was Superwoman Lol! I had so much energy!! God is sooo GOOD :)

Yes. I've heard of it happening during the times I'm leading worship with my co-leader at our church plant. Backaches, migraines etc.
It's not complicated! God will do his stuff when the Spirit is amongst us - especially when we worship!

The Gospel is a call to worship – 1 John 4:19 We love because He first loved us.

The greatest healing is surely the defeat of our sinful nature and our reconciliation to the Father.

That is so true Sue. Regardless of what our ailments are or our failures, it's HIS love alone that draws up the worship from our hearts.

God is always kind in all His ways. Whether we are willing, weak, fit or able He will have His way. What a privilege to serve Him knowing that he loves us deeply and will fight for us in any and every circumstance! His love alone draws up the worship from our hearts.

There are so many mysteries in this life. Why do those who often move in the miraculous, not see those wonderful things happen to themselves or those nearest and dearest to them. I heard that the great pentecostal evangelist Smith Wigglesworth, suffered from kidney stones all his life. Yet God used him in powerful ways.

A friend of mine had the gift of healing, yet at the same time he had a debilitating affliction which actually shrunk him, and eventually took his life. It reveals God's thinking when He chooses a vessel of weakness to reveal His awesome power.

These biblical, historical and personal stories of healing are all truly inspiring and more encouraging than you would know! Thank you.

Even today we are at the mercy of God as we celebrate an adult being gloriously set free from a brain tumour, and intercede with tears for a tiny little girl who is about to enter a season of chemotherapy.

With all my heart, I will say the Lord saves, the Lord heals , I will worship the Lord!

I guess we are meant to draw inspiration for our songs and writings from the handiwork of our creator. The Bible is full of these examples.

the ezekiel passage may well refer to the river reviving the Dead Sea, bringing fresh water into the salt-rich basin. also, we need to bear in mind that the ancient hebrew writers probably didn't have much time for the seaside. their general tone is not appreciative of the ocean.

theirs is a land-locked theology. so the symbolism in their writings will reflect that. much later, a welsh believer – whose humble kingdom was defined by the sea – wrote the words, 'here is love vast as the ocean'. he embraced the picture of a great body of water as an expression of God himself.

interesting how our environments affect our writing, eh?

Found this on pastornet.net
Several decades ago, A. W. Tozer said, "Worship is the missing jewel in the Christian Church'. In some ways things have changed since Tozer wrote those words. Over the past 25 years the Holy Spirit has been renewing his church in a remarkable way and bringing Christians everywhere a new understanding of the meaning and importance of worship....
William Temple, the great Anglican theologian, said, 'Worship is the submission of all our nature to God. It is the quickening of conscience by his holiness; the nourishment of mind with his truth; the purifying of imagination by his beauty; the opening of the heart to his love; the surrender of will to his purpose', and I would add 'and the surrender of our bodies to his total freedom'....
Remember that our healing starts with our personal time with the Lord. It's there that we can be free with God alone and after spending time alone with him, we can become more free with our brothers and sisters in Christ. Both are essential to know complete healing. Worship then becomes our whole life, involving all our being.

What also comes to mind is in Ezekial 47, we read about the river of God flowing from the throne of Grace, and healing the sea. We sing about and talk about moving in the river of God where this healing is. So yes scripture backs up healing in Gods river. As we enter into Gods presence we enter into the river, the singing part of our Worship lifestyle.

One of the Hebrew words for worship literally means 'healing.'
I was an eyewitness of a young man with a broken back, being healed as he worshipped. There was no altar call, no word of knowledge--just normal people worshipping God. He straightened up and shouted, "As we began to worship, I felt a warmth in my back and the pain left and I straghtened up." He then proceeded to touch his toes, hop up and down and run around the room! It was awesome. So yes I do believe God heals us when we worship.

The problem with making statements such as "he/she is an anointed worship leader/musician/singer", is that the said person becomes elevated to a place of higher spirituality/spiritual authority. As a congregation, our expectation increases when this person stands up to lead. We begin to look to the person, instead of God.

Years ago, a friend of mine was helping administer some Benny Hinn events at the Royal Albert Hall in London. She (and the venue management)was appalled by the conduct of the Christians who came to the sell-out events. After the afternoon session, people who had no tickets for the evening event, were hiding the in the toilets, rather than leaving the building. That way, they could sneak into the evening event without tickets. This is not a reflection on Benny Hinn but a sad reflection on what happens when people look to a man for healing and not to the Lord.

While there are many people that God has raised up to minister in music, healing, teaching etc. we should never forget that God also works through his body - the church.

like most things in life, 'the anointing' is not an exact science. when we don't 'have the anointing', we must be at our weakest – which is the point at which God uses us anyway, anointing or no anointing. everybody wins!

God gave us a hand that heals and a voice that soothes. It's all about being willing to offer what we can when we're asked. Would you say the anointing is something that needs more discussion?

It clearly worked in King David's case.

i think there is a lot of psychological and emotional direction and/or manipulation going on in church-based music – which we may often describe in grand spiritual terms. perhaps we should be a bit more thoughtful and honest in how we explain these corporate experiences to others.

having said that, it does appear that the Bible is full of good psychology. and so it should be, if the creator of our minds was truly the inspiration behind the text. when david calmed saul's troubled spirit with his music, was that good psychology or the work of God – or both?

If Jesus is being glorified, we can be certain that the Holy Spirit is working!

Jesus says of the Father, Himself, and the Holy Spirit:

"...[The Spirit of truth] will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you. All that the Father has is mine; therefore I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you." (cf. John 16:12-15)

Being healed is being set free, right?

Jesus is saying to us regarding our relationship with him:

"If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free."

"Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the one who takes refuge in him! Oh, fear the Lord, you his saints, for those who fear him have no lack! The young lions suffer want and hunger, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing." Psalm 34:8-11

Years ago I did some primary teaching and found that I could adapt the worship format to the classroom. Whatever the subject, if I started with a rousing song then a medium paced song and finally a slow one, I could get the kids to that place of calm where they were teachable.

So was it psychology or the Spirit working through me?

Good point. Can we easily distinguish between human/psychological manipulation of a crowd, or the emotions through music, as opposed to a genuine presence/work of the Holy Spirit?

More of my ramblings...

I agree that music is a language that is for the soul. It is such a powerful language that can stir up emotions. It is also double edged. It could be used in a positive way to minister or to bring people into an attitude of worship. It could also stir some other types of emotional release that may not be positive, spiritually speaking. Perhaps that's why the devil uses music to lead loads of people into his sort of empty oblivion.

I watch people in concerts and they jump up and down raising their hands. I wonder many times, what they feel in there after the concert, or rather as someone puts it, "when the music fades".

A lot of times when I hear a really nice music that moves me, I tend to stop and check if it's the music that moves me or ... is it the Lord that is touching me, moving me...

Okies... I'll stop talking about myself ;) Can't help it, I can only share about my own experience.

A couple of things I'd like to share...

About a decade ago while I was still between jobs, I used to follow the elder ladies from church visiting the cancer ward in our local hospital. One particular day, someone directed us to a patient from the regular ward who just had a stomach operation. He was in so much pain. He wasn't really expected to make it. We were asked to minister / pray for him. Since I was the only man there, the ladies asked me to do it. I was very inexperienced in this sort of thing at the time. I didn't know what to pray for and to make the task harder, I had to do it in another language which I'm not comfortable with. What I did was, I shared about the salvation message to him and lead him in the sinner's prayer. Everyone of his family members were ministered to too. I didn't know what to expect.

The following day, I got a call to and was told that he died. There was no physical or tangible healing. He simply died. I was also told that he died peacefully. I can't remember his name today, but I think I can confidently say he's with our Lord today. I did wish he didn't have to die but got healed. I get rather nervous usually when asked to pray for healing.

These last posts of this forum have been stirring my heart. I have been seeking the Lord's heart on humility, which is the very opposite of my leanings, for I am a proud and even cocky individual. But my hunger is for God's grace to work mightily in the lives of others, redeeming shattered marriages and providing a safe haven for children. This hunger is driving me into areas where I would not normally go, so that when I pray, I know that God is not just going to simply reveal Himself and His awesome power, but He is additionally going to redeem what appeared to be hopelessly lost, like the thief next to Jesus.
I like the direction this and other forums are going. They are helping me in my quest. Thank you and God bless you.

I love that first line of the prayer.

Something soothing, not argumentative, nor aggravating.

God picks us up when we're in such turmoil.

To be played does an instrument need to be polished or just available, poised and ready?

That is a really important final point. The Lord needs INSTRUMENTS not artists. Below is the prayer of St. Francis:

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
when there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
Grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood, as to understand,
to be loved as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying [to ourselves] that we are born to eternal life.

refering to the
Music for me is the language of the soul.
Therefor I think that we as christians should be more concerned about the states of mind/soul/emotions/etc. the musicians we're listening to are. Ourselves as we are worshipping should be aware of the condition our soul is in.
But, being honest, sometimes I just don't feel like praising God, but then I have to remind myself of the psalm which says: "Oh my Soul, Praise the Lord!" Notice the use of the imperative... Sometimes it doesn't have to do anything with emotions, conditions, a.s.o. Just a bit of obedience would do it... when you just "lift your hands" or "sing new psalms" or "present your bodies as a living sacrifice" ...
The music can be used as an instrument to push the people to search GOd, to get into his presence. Who does heal at the end? It is God and his presence! I think something we have to consider and be more and more concerned about in these times, when it isn't really hard to get famous, recognised and admired by thousands, is that God does not need ARTISTS but INSTRUMENTS.
Christ in us, the hope of salvation for the nations.

Just saw this on a website:

The use of music and sound to improve health is not a novel idea. Both harmful and beneficial effects of music have been recognized by the ancient Greeks and Romans, including Pythagoras, Democritus, Aristotle, Galen, and Celsus. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) refers to the qualities of specific instruments and sounds and their beneficial effects on various organs. Plato, Cicero, and Seneca all believed that music profoundly affected the behavior of entire societies and that the state should regulate the performance of music and prohibit certain types because of their potentially harmful effects. While such sentiments may be extreme, Plato's views remind us that the modern benign attitude toward music as mere "auditory cheesecake" contradicts the more ancient view of music as a powerful cultural force, for good or evil. According to many musicologists, music is a form of language or communication that directly accesses the emotions without the intermediation of words and rational thought.

Amen! I love this website! For your further consideration, there is the intercession of Moses when God had determined to eradicate the Hebrew children for whining, (I'm lucky to be alive!) and the gentile woman whom Jesus told she was out of sequence. He said He must first minster to the children before the pets, then she reminded Him that even the pets get scraps from the table!

I'd never seen it before but this first miracle is the only one to be mentioned in all of the gospels. Also it was about defending the integrity of the wedding organizers. It had nothing to do with healing or finance, but it had lots to do with the potential for embarrassment. God is outstanding in the way He provides through His Son. I only know this because I heard Andrew preach on it two weeks ago in Glasgow.

Sue

Healing is very much needed in today's world. Let's pray that unusual and spectacular healing miracles happen often for God to be glorified and for people to see His glory and goodness everywhere!

Ah, yes; thank you - very good! I guess I think plan B is put into place because plan A has failed - in this respect, I wasn't sure what you were alluding to. I'm sure He "saw it coming", though; He knows the beginning from the end. I had not gleaned from Jesus' "first" miracle the truth that He is willing to take time to minister to our needs simply based on our faithful requests. I say "first" miracle because

"[Jesus] is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created (without Him was not anything made that was made - John 1:3b), in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions, or rulers, or authorities - all things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things (In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God - John 1:1-2), and in Him all things hold together. And He is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from among the dead, that in everything He might be preeminent. For in Him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of the cross." Colossians 1:15-20

WOW!

But we all know this already.

And now to tie that back in with the theme of this forum, may the Lord Jesus be glorified in our lives, whether He ordains suffering or provides healing, so that others are drawn to Him.

The servants came to Mary at the wedding, and she mentioned to Jesus, they have no wine! He bluntly told her that His time was not yet, in other words, like any man, he had his own agenda. In total respect to Him, she simply said to the servants, whatever He says for you to do , do it! (always good instruction!)
God, who is the Alpha and Omega already had a script, and the Wedding of Cana was not on it. But after consideration, He, because He can, changed the fabric of time, and the course of history, and now this suggested miracle is one of the most beautiful in the Bible!

Yes, we do realize God's grace when we are thankful in all things. I enjoy sound health, I've not gone too many days hungry, I've always had enough water to drink, and I've always had clothes and shelter! These things are gifts I receive from God every day. If God withholds them from me, would I still worship Him?

Should not the desires of my heart be those of God's heart? Is it not God's desire to lead the lost to Jesus for salvation? Has he not demonstrated His love for us at Calvary? Am I asking God to serve me, or am I asking God to help me serve Him?

Help me out here - what was the plan B Mary requested regarding Jesus? I'm asking in all sincerity!

I strongly believe in the sovereignty of God, and that the plan He has in place is a perfect plan, and we release His grace when we are thankful in all things. But I am also sure that He is willing to come up with a plan B at our suggestion, as Mary did with her son Jesus, and God has a plate full of gifts every day for us, but we don't receive them because we don't ask for them.
I am convinced that the biggest reason we don't go to God more is because of fear. When I share some of things that God has done, sometimes there is a fearful reaction, because we a like wild animals, timid, and afraid of the awesome power of God, and God in His kindness does not push Himself boldly into our lives, because it might drive us into hiding.

Though the olive crop fails
And the fields produce no food,
Though there are no sheep in the pen

I do believe that God does heal us when we worship but then there are all forms of healing. 15 months ago my father passes away from cancer, he suffered greatly in the last few days of his life from severe pain. My father was also my Pator and a great singer in his final days he could not talk to us but we read the scriptures to him and sang over him with worship about our great God! God took him home as we sang How Great is Our God and he was completely healed, no more pain, no more sorrow. Healings come in all shapes and sizes it may be that your loved one no longer suffers of just that your heart can carry on without them. All I know is without worship, weither in song or prayer, the knowledge of who God is and a willing heart to recieve,no healing can take place

It's true that the songs/hymns that have stood the test of time in our meetings and in our memories are those that contain great biblical truth. Something is released when songs proclaim who God is and the power of His works. Let's hope that what we do today lasts until tomorrow.

i agree that there is something powerful about music. however, those old sunday school songs probably had some good theological content. we need to get back to that, if our music today is going to last longer than beyond the sunday roast.

too much contemporary worship has been focused on creating an atmosphere, often by strumming at length on one chord, getting a nice bass vibe going, building up the drumming, etc. we've all done it! however, it's a bit manipulative. so let's get back to an easy tune with theological content. that's all we need.

and we don't even need that to get healed. we need to become a healing community, but more about that another time. i'm just a worm, blowing the gospel trumpet...

There's something magnetic about music. It attracts people, yet many go to concerts filled with empty lyrics and even negative lyrics.

I find it astonishing that elderly people can sing the songs they learned in Sunday school yet not know where they are or who they're with. There's something timeless about truth!

Yes - let's fill the streets with a good sound and put the message into music that lasts!

I was listening to a Rob Bell podcast and he was saying about a scientist who experimented with water crystals. He wrote words on a page and when he wrapped the page around the glass the water was in and photographed the crystals they responded to positive words in beautiful patterns and to negative words the opposite. Well we are 70% water eh? (in fact some of us are wetter than other ha ha) but if simple words can change water crystals what can hundreds of voices singing out praise do to people and cities and countries?

Is this why the hebrews were encouraged to write scriptures down and carry them on their bodies?

was God yet again ahead of the game by centuries before scientist figured it out?

I get a lot more excited when I learn of God's grace restoring a family, than I do when I learn of God's healing. I don't know why. It may be that as a pastor I'm wired that way.
The first time I spoke about the rain miracles and how God revealed that He was teaching us about grace, there was a woman in the congregation who was in the process of divorce. She raised her hand for special prayer. Four weeks later she started coming to church with her husband and a huge smile. I later found that without her saying a word to him, she woke up to a pounding on the door. He was outside the door, crying and asking her if they could get back together.

Should we also look at the way a worshipping community can bring healing to our 'broken' communities?

That was certainly one of the aims of the 'March for Jesus' movement.
It was amazing what happened in towns and cities as Christians joined together and marched through the streets, cleansing the atmosphere through praise, prayer and worship.

Any stories out there?

I think there are lots of hidden stories about some wonderful things around the globe.

A couple of times in Philippians we see that Paul is pleased with the folks who help him to spread the gospel. Telling another person's testimony gives God the glory and helps the listener's faith to grow.

There is such heartache everywhere, people need to know that God can and will do very kind things for them.

Today is a great day for communicating the saving and healing power of the gospel message.

a few years ago i was on a residential course with christians from a whole range of denominations and traditions. i was chatting to a couple of catholic priests and i asked them what they thought about healing. they explained it was normal practice in their churches to be asked by parishioners for healing prayer.

did they have any stories of success, i asked? yes, they responded, rather non-sensationally. one priest told me that just before coming away on the residential, he had been called to pray for a young boy who was very ill. the priest prayed the prescribed prayer, and the boy recovered.

the way he described it was all so normal, so uneventful, so matter-of-fact. other churches would be screaming with delight, publishing the lad's testimony and sending out podcasts to the ends of the earth. but i was taken aback by this quiet approach, with a gentle expectation of results.

it made me wonder...is there 'hidden treasure' of stories of healing within the historic churches? are we just operating in different cultures of communication?

Over recent weeks and months there has been a collection of amazing healings in our congregations across Scotland.

A man who originally only came to church to plan his funeral, has been totally healed of an incurable brain tumour. His scans show the change and the doctors can't explain what's happened.

We have continued to hold healing meetings over the years and the worship/proclamation songs have been carefully thought through and arranged before the events.

Yes we do long to see more! There is so much need.

are we asking, does God heal through music? that's entirely up to him. King David brought Saul some relief from his demonised state by playing the harp. from what i can recall, that was a temporary remedy rather than a cure. however, music can be a very powerful medium. i heard from a former member of The Byrds last week that lives have been changed through their classic song 'Turn, Turn, Turn'. we do hunger and yearn for real, tangible healing.

God is healing people these days through the work of the cross.

In Scotland we have seen awesome miracles even in recent weeks. Thee is a hunger like never before for the word of God to be preached and for His power to be unleashed.

As worshippers I believe we can set the scene for a move of God that lasts!

The following account is not the first miracle that I observed, but it probably was the most awesome. It happened at La Junta Assembly of God Church near the Colorado River. The evangelist was Betty Swinford, and she wrote children's books for Moody Publishing. We were the music evangelists, a gospel trio called the Insights, Lynne, and myself, and David Royer. We had recently sung at the La Junta church of the Nazarene, who's minister was Rev. Corby Grimes. He later moved to another pastorate because he would not denounce this miracle. After it happened it forever muted my overt criticism of the charismatic movement. It was the end of the service. I was noodling at the piano something worshipful, and Lynne was back by the door, thanking those who were leaving, and selling our recordings. The rest of this I have copied from today's The Shepherd's Journal.
I could share about the girl who went outside the church in LaJunta, Colorado and slit her wrists lengthwise, and then came into the back of the church and threw herself on my wife in her long white dress and my wife, covered in bloodstains dragged the staggering girl to the front of the church to use the phone and the evangelist at the front of the church prayed a quick prayer, and the bleeding stopped, and my wife took the girls wrists and tried to pull the skin apart to find the slits and could not find them; and you will say, she must have missed them. (You do not know my wife!)

During one time of prayer, I was plonking gently and the pastor announced that there was someone in the congregation who had had a nose bleed for years and the Lord wanted to heal them.

"At last, it's my turn," I thought because every morning for two years I had woken with a slight nasal bleeding. Then, like a Polaris missile errupting from the sea, some joker up the back shoots out of his seat and hey presto there he is getting the 'fluence put on him right beside me.

"Oh well," thinks I, "Maybe next time." and continues to plonk somewhat sulkily.

But lo and behold the next morn I awoke and no bleeding nose. I mean I still had a nose but it wasn't bleeding. That was 6 years ago and it is still ok so God can heal during our times of worship even if you are not the one directly being prayed for.

I agree about the power of music, and I know that there are those that have the gift of healing, and others that receive a gift of healing. But I am also learning that grace first of all is specific. to pray for grace is not a vague, ambiguous prayer, and specificity gives the prayer more power, for it makes it more impossible for God to answer, and God loves a challenge. But grace also has it's own innate intelligence, like a stem cell, and the Spirit translates to it our need, and grace becomes what we need. If we need wisdom, or if we need restraint, or hope or healing, or vision, grace is like the solid gold currency of the spiritual world that works in any country, so to speak.
Most wars are won because the engineers come up with a deadly weapon that any man, with a minimum or training, can fire. I am convinced that grace, which God freely gives to the humble, is THE weapon for the final battle.
Healing, and other gifts that take deep understanding, is for the green berets, the rangers of the spiritual war. Grace is for everyman, and the explosive results are no less amazing!

I believe we should always take our confession and therefore our strength and authority from the word. I still have to work at it though! Psalm 138:2 tells us that God elevates His word over His own name. I found that quite puzzling at first. When we search we see that the promises for healing are there for us to discover and confess! I don't know why but when we sing it, I think there's something even more powerful going on!

What we confess with our mouths is really important. I often sing a song written by my friend Brian Houston from Belfast - "Where can I go". It has a great line in it - "You pour out healing on me". Everytime I sing that I am reminded that this is a positive and powerful confession. If sin can leave us by confession, can sickness also?

What a wonderful story> Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! Praise His Name!!

I am always encouraged when I hear of the release of God's power!

We have a beautiful young woman in our church who came with her family and an oxygen tank that she needed to be connected to. She was attending the hospice and gathering things to place in memory boxes for each of her five young children. The medics only gave her a few months to live.

She had seen one of our leaflets at her daughter's school and came along to a couple of worship events with us! When she was originally prayed for the lady became worse and ended up being taken to stay in at the hospice. A couple of leaders went to her and prayed again. Something dramatic has happened to her!

She has been released to go home! She now swims twenty eight lengths of the pool regularly, and the doctors have booked her in for new scans!! They really don't know what to say just yet!!

Believing praise and a heart that simply reaches to the Lord, releases the awesome love and delivering power of God! He's amazing!

I tried to keep it short, but your words of faith has caused a fountain of words to erupt.
I am not a faith healer. My style of praying for healing can be defined as nervous and skeptical.
God has lead our little congregation through a series of miracles that deal with rain. The initiator in this series was a farmer named John who buttonholed me after the service and told me it was my job to pray for rain during a drought. This started a series of public and somewhat fearful series of prayers that ended up in a prayer for 30 light rainy days, which God precisely answered that summer, and the drought was broken. There are other stories which you can read in my journal postings.
After God made it clear that the gift of praying for rain was a teaching tool to pray for grace, I began to shoot grace at every desperate situation in sight, especially families on the verge of breaking up. I could document this till the cows come home, so just take my word for it that there and are amazing incredible restorations!
My farmer friend John died, and I was asked to officiate his funeral. Normally my sermons are 10 minutes, but this story laid on my heart, so I did a 30 minute sermon on the rain and grace. These stories don't usually get fervent and boisterous praise, but stunned and silent awe.
After the service, John's lovely granddaughter came up to me weeping. Her best friend Lenna had stage four bone cancer, painful blood clots in her legs, and 105 fever. We simply prayed for grace as a holding move till I figured out exactly how to pray for her situation. None of my little congregation could advise me on how to pray for this, so after two weeks I got my nerve up and called Lenna's friend to inquire how she was doing. I honestly thought that by now she would probably be dead.
John's granddaughter answered the phone, and she was excited, almost babbling. I asked her how Lenna was, and i couldn't understand what she was saying, so I started asking specific questions. I asked How were the blood clots? Gone! How was the fever? Gone! How was the cancer? Reseeding! What hospital is she in. She was released! When did this happen? Why, when you prayed, of course! I called Lenna, and her story was even more fantastic and unbelievable. The funeral and the prayer was Saturday, and that night she went to sleep in misery. She woke up the next morning with no blood clots, no fever, no pain, and feeling great. That week the doctors drew spinal fluid from her back, where the cancer originated, and couldn't find any cancer, so they repeated the very painful test 3 more times and still could not find a trace of cancer in her back. I called Lenna 6 months later, and she had been declared cancer free.
Now you know why I pray for grace constantly, great grace, multiplied grace, infinite grace. I didn't take a course on faith healing, and I am not going to give one. I am not going to start a television ministry. You can do this as well as me, and probably better. I just wonder what the effect would be if believers all over the world started to pray relentlessly and specifically for grace. Would God open the windows of heaven, and release the fountains below till the world would be covered with grace like an ocean?

In Scotland we are seeing more and more healing and the power of God is being released. It's not always in the worship but sometimes during the time of singing and praise, people sense a heat in their body and they find that their pain has gone.
Recently there has been a lot of prayer and fasting - for lots of different needs. Three weeks ago, a baby born with cataracts was healed after he was prayed for. His daddy is a doctor and the baby boy was scheduled for surgery. During pre theatre checks the surgeon found that the cataracts had completely gone and stated it was a miracle. They even wrote it in the little boys notes!

God is doing great things, He deserves all the Praise!

Are there other testimonies that we can share together to celebrate His power and encourage one another?
