I wrote this song, based on Jesus' words in John 14:15, where He said, ""If you love me, you will obey what I command" and 1 John 4:20, which says, "If someone says, 'I love God,' but hates a Christian brother or sister, that person is a liar" It can be really easy to write a love song to God and tell Him how much we love Him. But, according to Jesus, if we say we love Him, that has to change the way we live and the way we relate to one another.

PS - the "really love You" part of the song (which some may find a bit cheesy) is a bit of a throw back to a song I was taught as a kid in Sunday school that went: "If You love Me, truly love Me, keep my commandments day by day..." Some of you may have sung it.
